In January 2020, members of the Winsor School’s Planet Protectors club invited Resonant Energy to discuss solar options for the school. The students organized a petition, made their case to the Head of School, and then presented a comprehensive plan to the Board of Trustees for approval. Their thoroughly researched proposal secured a green light on the clean energy project which began construction in March 2022. The 149 kW system will produce 175,000 kWh and will cover 33% of the school’s annual usage. Over the 25-year lifetime of the system, the Winsor School is expected to save over $1 million.

Inspired by the leadership demonstrated at the Winsor School, Students for Solar is a campaign designed to help other student groups, teachers, and faculty in Massachusetts bring solar to their schools.
