The Island Parkside Solar installation totals 181 kW-DC across 2 newly constructed multifamily housing buildings operated by Lawrence Community Works and a community squash center (Lawrence Community Squash) run by the nonprofit SquashBusters. These projects were completed in two phases as construction was completed on the 3 buildings. In addition to solar, the roof of Lawrence Community Squash also features a green roof, which is designed to support building cooling and reduce overall energy costs.

Each year, these solar arrays will produce enough energy to power 124 electric vehicles for a year. Together, these solar installations are expected to save the nonprofit owners more than $1.5 million in electricity savings over the next 25 years.
